The Alleppey beach, Kerala considered one of the favourite tourist spot falls in the district of Alappuzha. Covered to the west by the Arabian sea, the beach boast of beautiful lakes, lagoons and several water crisscrosses. The immensely appealing Alleppey beach is also referred to as the Venice of the East. Its proximity to the sea has given it the distinction of being a Backwater Tourist Center attracting foreign visitors to view the Boat races and enjoy the relaxed houseboat holidays. The whart, which extends into the sea here, is around 140 years old.

Alleppey beach consists of a long stretch of shores densely populated with the swaying palm groves. Pathira Manal: Favourite spot of the migratory birds, this little island was believed to be created, when a young brahmin dived into the waters to perform his evening ablutions. The waters made way for the land to rise above the sea level to create the enchanting place. The small island falls between Thaneermukkom and Kumarakom and can be accesses through the waterways by the boats.

Champakulam Church: Counted among the oldest churches in Kerala, the Champakulam Church is believed to be one of the prominent establishment by St.Thomas. The annual festival held in the beginning of the month of October is a great fanfare.

Ambalappuzha Sree Krishna Temple: Standing 15 km south of Alleppey, the Shree Krishna Temple built in the style of the typical Kerala architecture is famous for the Palpayasam. Daily offering of milk is offered to the deity of Lord Krishna. The ritual of Palipana is worshipped here once every twelve years.
